Under State Wildlife Law, no specimen of native wildlife can
be held or processed in the state of Victoria unless that
specimen has been lawfully obtained.
It is not permitted in the state of Victoria to collect "road
kills" unless that person has a special authorization or permit
from the Wildlife Department to do so.
Interstate clients should also note that specimens of native
wildlife to be shipped to South Pacific Taxidermy must be
accompanied by the appropriate export approval or permit of
authority issued by the relevant state or territorial wildlife
department. Import approval from the Victoria State
Wildlife Department authorities may also have to be obtained
prior to import movement.
The export of specimens of native Australian wildlife for
commercial purposes is prohibited under the Biodiversity Act
1999.
This also includes all game waterfowl species obtained under
a Game Waterfowl Licence.
